TRM, or How to Improve Competencies of Air Traffic Controllers and its Potencial Utilization in a Multinational Cooperation

Abstract

Trainings focusing on the improvement of air traffic controllers' competencies and more efficient cooperation, started in the late 70’s. The goal was to reduce the potential incident of mistakes committed by the traffic controller, as a person and a member of the team. The organization of trainings, methods and effectiveness have gone a long development process through the last decades, and nowadays already forming an integral part of air traffic controller training. In Hungary, the Hungarocontrol was the first who adopted the TRM in its own training system, and applies it during refreshing trainings. In its case, the subjects of trainings know each otherand are members of a well proven team, who meet day by day, and it is not neglible, that they speak the same language. In the article the authors would like to emphasize how to utilize the TRM for the benefit of military air traffic controllers, in particular the trainings of ones who are serving for multinational team in an operational airport.
