Some Modern Equipment for the Rapid Development and Repair of Runways and Taxiways

Abstract

The appearance of the airplanes and their spreading made necessary to construct and maintain safe take-off and landing places, airfields. This is especially true for military airfields, where all time of day and weather conditions has to ensure the safe take off and receiving aircrafts. The NATO STANAG requirements for airfields very strictly regulate the airfield safety management agenda and determine the key parameters of each task. The most important fundamental tasks of the Air Force engineer subunits are to prepare, to operate, to maintain and to recover helipads and airfields for the safe take-off and landing.
