Physical Protection of Airfield Facilities Against IED

Abstract

This article deals with the matter of the protection from terrorist blasting, which has a high importance, since these kinds of activities occur almost on a daily basis. Protection from these events, preparation and even more the possible prevention is everyone’s interest. The elements of the critical infrastructure – i.e. civilian and military airfields – are among the specially endangered targets, so the author of this article tries to display a novel solution that may be useful to protect airfield facilities against improvised explosive devices.
