Transformation of the Current Helicopter Instrument Flight Training

Abstract

Helicopter forces are involved and cover the full spectrum of tasks facing the Hungarian Home Defence Forces. In joint operations, they take part in both combat support and combat service support. A prerequisite of compliance with the system of tasks is that helicopters are expected to be operated by adequately trained personnel. By writing this article, I have got two main objectives: On one hand I wanted to describe the details of current IFR training, and analyse the related documents, the output of the training. On the other hand, I wanted to provide conceptual solution for a possible reduction of aircrew IFR minimums.
