Modell Development of Propulsion System Components for Small Hybrid Aircraft

Abstract

Although, the modern internal combustion engines used today in vehicles reduced fuel consumption and pollutant emissions significantly, the amount of consumed energy is still high, which has harmful effect in our life. The modern electric motors with higher efficiency may have solution on these problems, which were proven by the pioneering developments; they can be applied successfully in personal vehicle industry as part of a hybrid system or by themselves in case of the electric energy is generated by environmental friendly ways. Following the application of these engines in cars an idea emerges, can they be applied in aircraft as well? We are looking for the answer for this question in this research study by creating the framework of the propulsion systems, which could be used to investigate the feasibility of hybrid aircraft propulsion systems in the next step of the present work.
