Air Traffic Analysis By Markov Modelling at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport

Abstract

High density airports constantly require assessments of procedures in order to increase operational efficiency and to identify significant investments. Queuing models with Markov process are one of the tool to analyse key performance indicators and modelling airport handling systems or certain aspects (delay, throughput, maximum load) of airport capacity (taxiways, runway, aprons and passenger gates). Our study introduces the possibility of Markov model application for air traffic analysis at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport.
