Abstract
The study examines the relationship between Force Protection (FP) and counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) within the modern operational environment. The proliferation of unmanned aerial vehicles has introduced new, low-observable and rapidly adaptable threats that significantly increase the vulnerability of military forces. According to NATO doctrine, FP is a cross-functional set of activities aimed at protecting personnel, infrastructure, and military equipment, while ensuring freedom of action. The study highlights that addressing the drone threat requires an integrated approach in which engineering support plays a key role. Fortification activities, camouflage, and recovery capabilities all contribute to enhancing survivability. It can be concluded that engineering measures constitute essential components of a modern, adaptive, and layered defence system.
