The Problem of Mine Clearance in Ukraine in the Light of Modern Technologies and Opportunities

doi: 10.32562/mkk.2026.1.2

Abstract

As a consequence of the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine, the resulting mine contamination extends far beyond the immediate impacts of military operations. The presence of minefields poses not only an immediate physical danger but also severely limits the potential for long-term social and economic recovery. In the occupied or recaptured territories, the movement of civilians, the restart of agricultural production, and the restoration of infrastructure all face significant obstacles.
