Landmine Detection with Aerial Vehicles

doi: 10.32562/mkk.2021.4.1

Abstract

The opposing forces often laid antitank or antipersonnel minefields during wars and other armed conflicts. Although the countries that have adopted the Ottawa Convention have abandoned the future use of antipersonnel landmines, the mines that were previously installed are still hiding in large numbers under the surface of the soil and are taking their toll. Safe detection of mines, other dangerous explosive devices and the precise determination of their location sometimes require specific equipment. The authors introduce certain aerial vehicles that can be used to search for mines from the air and some of their special reconnaissance equipment.
