Slope Stability Analysis of the Left Side Profile rkm 32 + 250 of the Kettős-Körös River

Abstract

Hungary’s main public protection line, a flood protection dam with a length of 4,200 km, is built as an earthwork.  These earthworks, as elaborated protection systems, are  influenced by many factors that affect the safety of the  protection structure. This paper presents the analysis of a  certain profile of the flood protection dam situated in the  Körös valley with the geotechnical software GEO5, and within that, the slope stability module. The computations  realised by means of this module can contribute considerably to evaluate the construction for safe flood  protection.
