Rising and Evolution of Counter-mobility

Abstract

Since humans live on Earth, there are fights for food, instruments, territory, principles and anything else. During the history, theory and practice of war are continuously changing and developing, as well as everything else. It has been well known in the ancient time already that movement is indispensable element of fighting to reach the enemy with own weapons available, and avoid the enemy’s weapons. Therefore, if movement is very important element of fighting, the hindering of movement is also significant for realizing own goals. My aim is to shortly summarize a small, but nowadays repeatedly mentioned field of engineer support: the counter-mobility and its historical development.
