Absztrakt
Az improvizált robbanószerkezetek nem új keletű eszközök a háborúkban és a regionális konfliktusokban. Használatukat ösztönzi, hogy olcsók, egyszerűen előállíthatók és rugalmasan telepíthetők. Az aszimmetrikus hadviselés és a nem állami szereplők körében Európában feltételezhetően elsőként az Ír Köztársasági Hadsereghez volt köthető IED-eszközök széles körű alkalmazása.
