Abstract
The improvised explosive devices are not new for the wars and local conflicts. Additional incentives for its use are its general characteristics, such as environmental flexibility during installation, and the fact that it is cheap and easy to manufacture. In terms of changes in the type of conflicts, asymmetric warfare and non-state actors in Europe, the Irish Republican Army was presumably the first to be linked.
