Abstract

The study examines the system of private security in Germany and investigates whether security can be measured, as well as the effectiveness of the WISIND method in this measurement. In our research, we scrutinised both international and German literature, seeking to answer how WISIND, as an economic security indicator, can be applied to measure security, and how security measurement is possible in the field of crime.

The relevance of the topic is undeniable, as various events occurring in society increasingly amplify citizens’ desire for security, which can no longer be guaranteed without the close cooperation of law enforcement agencies with the private security industry. WISIND, as an indicator, is a method applicable in many areas of socio-economic life, including the field of crime, for measuring security.
