Abstract
Between 13 november 1918 and 27 august 1921, due to the military treaty signed in Belgrade, a large part of Baranya County was part of the Serbian empire. The police provided the tasks regarding the protection of public order under the control and with the frequent contribution of the occupants. Public conditions, especially public order showed a decaying situation. From the fall of 1919,
the nationalization of the rural police was realized, which manifested with a 2 year latency in Pécs-Baranya. The organization of the district Police Headquarters started in
Kaposvár, and it was finished in August 1921 in Pécs. Meanwhile, the Peace Dictate of Trianon, which was signed on 4 June 1920, restricted the number and the arming of the police. There were also constant economic measures vindicated in the operation of the establishment.
