The Education of Criminal Code in the Law Enforcement Higher Education

Abstract

The study presents the criminal education of the professional police (for the police, border guarding, custom, execution of sentence, etc. trained professionals) and compares it to the criminal education of law students. The author ascertains by the education time, the subjects and textbooks, that the criminal education of the law students and the police students is identical (compatible). The author deals with the problem of the student’s practical education as well. He states that many methods are tried with the aim to give students not only theoretical, but practical knowledge at the university as well. The author has the opinion that none of the methods described are leading to good scores. The students are not able to use their knowledge in criminal law, criminal procedure law and criminology in cooperation, it is unpossible to train them during their university years for using them jointly. The author thinks that the practical education of police professionals after the university education is necessary similar just like in case of the lawyers.
