Bilingualism from Psycholinguistic and Neurolinguistic Aspects, Its Marginal Sciences and Its Role in the Education Policy
Abstract
Although bilingualism was considered to have a privileged role even in Ancient civilizations, it became in the focus of empirical, psycholinguistic and neurolinguistic researches from 1920s. In this study I intend to itemize the concept, its formation, marginal sciences, advantages and the discrepancies between mono-and bilinguals regarding their brain representations and various capabilities. I would also like to highlight why bilingual and multilingual researches are substantial concerning educational and language policy and minority science.
