Remembrance Politics and Responsibility

  • Sipos Gréta

Abstract

The Second World War affected the life of many families. Even after seven decades we still distrust each other and largely ignore the past. Remembrance politics can help us deal with the past, especially if there is social consensus around it. Germany blazes the trail of remembering while Hungary is lagging behind. The paper describes the development of remembrance politics, its phases and importance.
