The Position of Public Safety in Municipal Council Committees of Local Governments

Abstract

Nowadays public safety plays an increasingly important role in people’s lives and its improvment demands more and more effort from local governments. In the light of the above, the present paper emphasises the following questions: to what extent is public safety present in municipal council committee structures in the local governments examined and how its situation changed after the 2014 municipal election? What factors influence the presence of public safety in the committee structure of municipal councils?
