Essential Relations Among Poenology, Criminal-pedagogy and Law Enforcement Sciences

Abstract

This paper has multiple purposes. On the one hand it analyses the science-taxonomical and functional connections of poenology and criminal-pedagogy with law enforcement sciences. To this end after reviewing the evolution of the three sciences, the paper defines their sciencetaxonomical position finally demonstrating the overlaps. On the other hand this study examines the relevance of the PhD level education of poenology and criminal-pedagogy for the development of law enforcement sciences. Therefore we collect and emphasize the possibilities, values and importance of the PhD level education of poenology and criminal-pedagogy in favour of the development of prison management, crime prevention and ultimately the public safety.
