International Cooperation Opportunities of Higher Education Especially Customs Officer Training

Abstract

In the past the medieval universities were the acknowledged international institutions, where the language of the education was Latin. In the nineteenth century, in addition to many other areas, higher education started to nationalise, the institutions turned inward and education in the mother tongue became commonplace. Today higher education has resumed through internationalization. It has intensified co-operation and networking among institutions, lecturers, students and researchers. The education policy of the European Union has played an increasingly important part in Community policies, using the available resources and having an effect on the development of national education policies.
