Law Enforcement Agencies: Integrity Ante Portas

Abstract

For a long time, the fight against corruption of law enforcement agencies in Hungary focused mostly on the rule-based approach. This can be changed by a recently adopted amendment of the Government Decree No. 370/2011. (XII. 31.) on the internal control system and internal audit of budgetary institutions, which prescribes the development of the organizational integrity management system for all budgetary institutions. The current paper examines how integrity management tasks defined by the internal control system can be linked to the anti-corruption efforts of the law enforcement agencies.
