The Role of Fantasy in Sexual Homicide

Abstract

Sexual homicide is an extreme and very rare form of violence. These crimes are often direct extensions and results of the fantasy of the offender. In our study we investigate the role of fantasy in the life and crime(s) of perpetrators of sexual homicide. We study the development and functions of deviant sexual fantasy and the path leading from fantasy to action. Finally, we reflect on the possible usability of this knowledge in criminal profiling and in prisons.
