Elements of the Schengen Based Border Traffic Control in Hungary in 2016
Abstract
In order to prevent and manage irregular migration, measures taken exclusively in the field of border surveillance are not effective since the integrated border management is based upon multilevel and interdependent parts of a complex system of which the surveillance is only one single element. Border checks at border crossing points executed in the required manner represent an added value in managing migration equal to border surveillance. Reliable identity checks and searches of the hiding places of vehicles, trucks and freight trains have significant relevance.
