Experiences and New Elements of the Military Logistics Bachelor’s Tactical Training in the Context of RSOM Operations

Abstract

The Russian–Ukrainian confrontation, followed by the unfolding armed conflict, has significantly altered NATO’s and European states’ standpoint on the security environment of the region. In addition to increasing applicable forces, the Alliance is placing growing emphasis on developing RSOM (Reception, Staging, Onward Movement) capabilities in order to ensure the rapid and seamless deployment of troops across the European theatre. Fort the lecturers of Department of Supply, Finance and Military Transportation, Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training, of Ludovika University of Public Service, it has become clear that greater emphasis must be placed on RSOM-related tasks and their changes in the traning of graduating cadets who study in military logistic Bsc program. This article aims to present the RSOM-oriented training elements and their practical implementation within the framework of tactical field exercises conducted in the military logistics Bsc program. The authors examine the applied methodology, innovative practical approaches, and how these elements contribute to the practice-based preparation of cadets. These tasks can be appeared in the professional duties of officers, both in national defense and crisis response operations. For this reason, it is very important for the the faculty's element and the supporting military to maintain their cooperation and lecturers to develop the traning program, which adapts the security policy environment.
