doi: 10.32567/hm.2021.1.1

Abstract

In this part of our article series we will continue to discuss the military aspects of light and lighting. Previously, we have presented the specifics that arise during the operation of the branch. We introduced the unique context of the operational environment through more unique tools. In this section we talk about the requirements to give a fuller picture of their limits. Due to its topicality, we deal with market forecasts and standardised tools in a separate chapter, and we also focus on night vision, which plays a key role in enhancing visual performance in military service.
In addition, we will look at the evolution of the application of vision and vision limitations in the battlefield, so in the next and last section of the second part we will look at the features of battlefield illumination and the regulations about the lowering of illumination (so called blackout rules in wartime).
