Abstract
Nowadays, the technical terms compliance and compliance management are heard more and more, and there are many definitions in the literature. The aim of this study is twofold. On the one hand, it is dedicated to examining these terms together with the term security, and using bibliometric tools (Web of Science and the Magyar Tudományos Művek Tára databases) to try to redefine compliance and compare it with the theoretical definition. On the other hand, it also examines which scientific fields have published the most on the topic of compliance in the OpenAlex database. Based on the definition, it may be possible to further develop the practical application of compliance and to define the area to be further researched.
