doi: 10.32567/hm.2020.2.14

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to present Hungary’s National Security Strategy (2012) in the light of current security policy trends. The thesis of the article is that the security policy environment, security interests, security threats, challenges and their management, as well as the tools used to implement the Strategy following the global security policy trends, are obsolete and outdated. The most pressing security policy challenges today are (1) globalisation; (2) digitisation; (3) global warming and (4) depletion of raw material resources. Therefore, it is necessary to write a new Strategy, which is in line with the global, especially European, security trends, and along which Hungary’s security policy challenges and their solutions can be identified.
