Abstract

The purpose of the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) – derived from its designation – is to ensure the territorial integrity of Hungary against external attacks, to restore the country in case of incidental natural and industrial disasters, furthermore to comply with obligations according to the federal and international agreements. Such a complex scope of duties require well prepaired and healthy
personnel with outstanding physical capabilities. Hence, during the execution of the daily orders, the quality and quantity of the daily nutriment is cardinal.
In my opinion, investigating this topic is necessary and actual, considering the ongoing situation within military- and security policy, the fitness and well-being of our
country’s servicemen is of high importance. In order to create this level of physical wellness, it is required to have a stable and well operating supply chain system, that
is capable of ensuring the catering supply at an advanced level during the entire year. The goal of this publication is to analyse the quality of the nutritional supply system
of the HDF through a prior research of the author, revealing the incidental deficiencies and examining the fulfillment of conditions for an adequate catering system.
