The Risk Analysis Based New Model of Medical Screening

doi: 10.32567/hm.2021.1.12

Abstract

The military and civil medical screening systems in Hungary are not based on uniform principles. There is no method based on only evidences or risk assessment. None of the screening systems examined which diseases should be filtered depending on their prevalence compared to each other. The detection of the selected diseases in actual screening protocol has been proven to be necessary, but no studies have been carried out to ensure that these are the most important medical conditions to be filtered. There are no recommendations for updating the screening diseases list. We have created a model to compare the diseases to be screened based on their risk of occurrence. The model can help to operate health support systems and design screening protocols and scans.
