Disasters in the Hungarian Hydrocarbon Industry, Their Lessons Learned and Ways of Prevention, Part 1.

doi: 10.32567/hm.2020.4.9

Abstract

In the two-part study we collected the accidents of the Hungarian hydrocarbon industry and we put  them in chronological order. We began the grouping  with hydrocarbon mining and the analysis of the  related petroleum and natural gas eruptions in the  first part, then in the second we continue with the  disasters that happened during hydrocarbon  processing and we review their consequences. In our  opinions, in order to avoid bigger industrial  disasters the authorities, the developers, together with the operators, should always be one step ahead  of the occurrence of disasters, using what they have  learned from earlier accidents, and improving the  complex methods of preparation and prevention.
