Differentiated Flood Protection in Hungary

Abstract

Today’s changing weather conditions and the resulting floods on rising water levels reveal the importance of flood protection, improvement of flood control structures and flood control. It can be stated that the improvement of flood control structures can track changes only to a certain level, above this level differentiated flood protection solution has to be used. With rising of flood water level, we have to count the depreciation of improvement of flood control structures.
At this moment in Hungary the regulation of the differentiated flood protection was formulated as a claim, but it is important to note that to introduce of the differentiated flood protection is help to reach a cost effective and an adjusting needs of flood protection activity.
