Application of Multi-criteria Decision Making in the Military Research and Development Processes

Abstract

Nowadays, the use of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) in military technology R & D processes has become an intensive research field in military-technical sciences. 
The article presents a multi-criteria decision-making approach to development and modernization needs that can help decision-makers involved in developing and upgrading tasks.
The first one who examined VIKOR (Vise Criterion Optimization I Compromise Resenje) was Opricovic in 1998, which focuses on ranking alternatives and compromise selection in case of conflicting criteria.
The advantages and limitations of applying the VIKOR method of decision support are presented using a military case study.
After the results are presented, conclusions are drawn and suggestions are maede for further application of the methodology.
