Abstract
Hungary's National Water Resource Strategy the Kvassay Jenő Plan makes preserving water, a natural resource, for future generations a high priority mission. For preservation to be feasible, it is necessary to train highly educated water management professionals and to improve schooling indicators for the secondary and higher education.
In this publication the Author demonstrates the results of the empirical research: the factors affecting the students' career choices, and the affects of professional experiences in secondary school on the advancement of students in their professional education. She presents the important role of the parents, the teacher and the school in the making of the career choice by the students.
