Abstract
The basis for coexistence between our society and the constituent communities is safety,
which is fundamentally influenced by the structure and volume of the crimes and the subjective sense of security of members of the community. Obviusly, crime can always be
interpreted in relation to a specific area, to a living space, so the built environment has an
emphasized importance in dealing with crime.
The purpose of the present essay is to explore the relationships between personal and property protection, risk management and crime prevention through enviromental design, and to identify the viewpoints, factors and security risks, which can influence the personal and property security of the given living space, discover the situational causes of the crime, so can be selected the most effective methods of crime prevention through enviromental design.
