Abstract
The blasting of chimneys is a relatively well-researched and experience-based area, which nevertheless can carry many dangers, especially if the chimney or building is located in a built-up environment (close to residential properties). I would like to introduce a branch of industrial blasting technology that few experienced professionals deal with in Hungary today. I will show the safety issues of blasting (seismic effects, shrapnel effects, air blast), which are mandatory to examine during planning, as required by law. I will discuss why public utility coordination is an important (in addition to being mandatory) element of planning and permitting, since various service providers may even refuse blasting. I will describe a specific task, how to get from the request to the point where the mining supervision issues us with an explosives use permit, based on which we can complete the task set. I will describe in detail the moments of the fieldwork, documented with pictures.
