Possibilities to Ensure Opening of Emergency Exits

Abstract

The usability of the emergency exits in buildings is a basic condition for the safe escape of persons staying in the building. In addition to the basic functions (open and closed) of the doors and windows, an easy and quick opening in an emergency situation is vital. Moreover, there is a need that emergency exits should only be used in case of real emergencies. The authors present and analyse the options that ensure safe use in case of emergencies.
