Engineer Geniuses: Colonel András Császár

Abstract

The military career of András Császár could be considered ordinary, as he progressed through the ranks without any difficulties. Even when he had to serve with distinction in such difficult times as the fronts of the Great War, and the turbulent times after the war. As a cartographer, he further utilised his abilities in service of his country.
One of his main professional interests lay in building railroads. He built railways, bridges, funicular railways on the Russian, Italian, and Romanian frontlines of the First World War. His outstanding professional skills and his unwavering love for his country raised him into ever-higher positions.
