Abstract
Engineer soldiers’ preparedness, alignment and openness towards innovation are well known and acknowledged irrespectively of ages and regimes. Persons showing an interest in their achievement displayed on the battlefield and peacetime are shown in the chapters of the Hungarian military history. We think, that it is worth demonstrating this intellectuality through distinguished engineer soldiers, highlighting the tasks, challenges and their professional and humane answers. It is not our goal to create new heroes; we just try to introduce objective and exciting personalities.
