Engineering Support of the Force Protection

Abstract

The military engineer support is a supporting task in favour of combat engagement, which was already present in the age of the Roman Empire. At the end of the 20th century which was, at the same time the end of the bipolar world order, the appearance of force protection emerged as a task in the Alliance’s doctrine. Preserving the operational capability of the available forces is influencing the successfulness of the mission. Therefore, the military engineering support to FP is more demanding among the tasks of engineers in the 21st century. The basic conditions for planning and execution of the efficient military engineer support is well regulated command and control.
