Abstract
Lieutenant General Zoltán Zelenka (1884–1942) fought in both of the world wars. He saw action first hand at the Italian and the Russian fronts, and later participated in the occupation of Upper Hungary in 1938. He utilized his combat experience as a teacher at the Ludovika Military Academy, he was the Head of the Second Chief Directorate for years. He had educated hundreds of military engineers, out of which many gave their lives in service of the nation. He remained military engineer in every position he fulfilled, and valued duty and camaraderie the most.
