Abstract

Engineer support involves a number of specialised tasks that require different types of engineer vehicles and special equipment. However, different machines with different capabilities require different and specific logistical backgrounds, special preparation and training, and the commander must pay high attention to work organisation, the appropriate machine must be available in the right place and for the right period, together with its operator. The need to have technical equipment capable of carrying out a number of completely different engineer tasks, even under enemy fire and under special combat, NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) and terrain conditions has been
recognised in the armed forces of many countries: that is why multi-purpose or multifunctional engineer vehicles were born.
