Abstract

László Feimer (1896–1954) was one of the finest bridge design engineers in the history of the Hungarian Defence Forces. His design, the so-called “K-bridge” is a structure mainly for military purposes, which can be assembled quickly, using pre-prepared materials and screws only, without the need of scaffolding. By changing the height of the bridge structure (building either one, two or three layers) 50, 80 and 105 metres wide gaps could be bridged. With his work, László Feimer has forever written his name into the history books of bridge building.
