The Possible Ways of Countering Criminal and Terrorist Activities Using Explosive Devices, Focusing on the Operations of EOD Organizations

Abstract

In relation with the quick development of the explosive devices used for criminal activities, the professional way of dealing with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED’s) has become more and more important. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians would not be able to carry out their tasks safely without protective equipment. The events of the past few years drew the attention to the fact that it is not enough to use the new tools and equipment, but new methods and way of thinking (training) is needed to effectively operate in international military operations. But these activities should not be done as a routine job, because the terrorist organizations are surveying and analyzing the military way of disposing of the explosive devices. I would like to present here the possible ways of protection, which can help our troops to effectively carry out their tasks, and can protect them during their work in national and mainly in international missions.
