Natural and Man-made Disasters in Australia, Possibilities of Prevention
Abstract
In the study the authors reviewed the disaster vulnerability of Australia, the features of major natural and man-made disasters, the unpredictable disruption of the ecological balance typical of the continent, in many cases, its irreversible effects. They examined the Australian national strategy for disaster resilience and its education, disaster preparedness by using the Internet-based DisasterMapper and the Dingo Creek programs. Finally, the Australian "good practices" were evaluated, which can be used in our country in disaster management.
