Challanges of the Military Engineering Doctoral Program
Abstract
The author of this paper deals with special issues of the military engineering doctoral programs, which concerns the special nature of the scientific discipline, and the general and field specific challenges, which arose for the doctoral programs in Hungary. The discipline is specialized for applied research, but the industrial base, which could test and utilize the results is nonexistent. This restricts the possibilities for the doctoral programs. Furthermore the conflict between the classic and professional doctoral models also results some difficulties in researcher development. The author urges the integrated coordination of research and development in the industrial and scientific field, the separation of doctoral models and the renewal of scientific performance measurement.
