Principles of the Installation of Large Capacity Civil Camps
Abstract
Recent events confirm that we have to face new challenges that amount to (expected or unexpected) massive migration. As a consequence of a natural, civilisational catastrophe or a mass outing, affected people need shorter or longer term shelter. For their accommodation some kind of camp has to be established and maintained. Surveying experiences of existing civil and military camps is vital for setting up these institutions. This article musters the components that have to be taken into consideration at the establishment of a camp: geographical features, number of people to be accommodated, ethnic composition, duration of the boarding, quality and cost, safety, environmental effects, etc. These aspects together determine the principles of the task.
