New Generation of Handheld Chemical Detectors for the Development of CBRN Reconnaissance Teams’ Capability

Abstract

The purpose of NBC recon is the detection and identification of CBRN hazards. The CBRN detection is the discovery of the presence of CBRN substances by any means. One of the most important elements of this means is the chemical detector. The author of the article presents the key component of CBRN defence and point to the application of the tools which are based on IMS (Ion Mobility Spectometry) and FPD (Flame Photometric Detection) technology.
