One of the Carribean Horrors: Hurricane Matthew Lessons Learned

Abstract

This article focuses on the 2016 Hurricane Matthew, as a result of the climate change, more and more extreme weather conditions should be expected, thus this research, can also be utilized in practice. Hurricanes have occurred in the past, we remember their names because of the incredible destruction. Think about the rage of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, Hurricane Isaac swooping in Haiti and New Orleans, Hurricane Sandy, which in October 2012 destroyed in the Caribbean and East Coast of North America, or Hurricane Haiyan (Yolanda) devastating the Philippines in November 2013! The hurricanes are annually recurring weather phenomenon. Much is known about the hurricanes, but to our knowledge it is not possible to prevent them. Only, when careful preparations and precautions are taken, can the human life losses and property damage be reduced.
