Abstract

The blasting processes of the soil and rocks can be divided into two big groups. The aim of most of the mining tasks (under and above the ground level equally) and traffic constructions works (tunnels, sections etc.) is splitting, breaking, grinding the given material while limiting the ejection of fragments. The other big group consists the different kind of soil works (pits, trenches) executed by explosion. During this work the materials are expected to be not only crushed but also excavated to the greatest extent possible. For a long time, this demand has arisen mainly in execution of military tasks where the time factor had priority over the cost of the applied explosives. In this study we look through the regulations of the throwing blast of the soils and rocks. During this review we browse among the military blasting standards and regulations from the end of 19th century until today.
